- Title: Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy and higher order Painlevé equations
- Abstract:
- Drinfeld-Sokolov hierarchy is a generalization of KP hierarchy to Affine Lie algebra, which yields various Painlevé equations by use of operations called similarity reductions.
In this talk, we consider DS hierarchy in view of Lie algebra of type A,B,E systematically, presenting a list of ordiary differential equations as higher order version of Painlevé equations.
On the other hand, it is known (by T. Oshima, Y. Haraoka, H. Sakai and T. Tsuda) that some of higher order Painlevé equations obtained as above are also obtained by isomonodromic deformations of linear differential equations of Fuchsian type.
In this talk, the speaker also explains known relations between DS hierarchy or higher order Painlevé equations and isomonodromic deformations.
