- Title : Sobolev inequalities for variable exponents attaining the values 1 and n
- Abstract:
- We consider Sobolev emdeddings in variable exponent spaces for exponents satisfying 1≤ p ≤ n in a bounded domain.
We combine weak- and strong-type
estimates, and use a new variable exponent target space scale which features a
space of exponential type integrability instead of L1 at the upper end.

- Place : C808 Fac. Integrated Art Sci., Hiroshima University
- Speaker : Vladimir N. DUBININ (RAS, FEB)
- Title : Symmetrization of condensers with applications in geometric function theory
- Abstract:
- First, the definitions of polarization and dissymmetrization of sets and condensers in n-space are given.
We consider sketched proofs of principal theorems about behaviour of the various capacities of condensers under these and other transformations.
As an application, the solutions of Vuorinen's problem on n-modulus of a family of curves in n-space, Gonchar's minimal capacity problem and others are obtained.
Second, the simplest case of the piecewise separating symmetrization of plane condensers are considered.
We prove theorems about behaviour of conformal capacity and the inner radius under the separating transformation.
As an application, certain classical and recent problems of geometric function theory are solved.
Also, other types of symmetrization on the plane are discussed.
