アブストラクト

Theories of semisimple Lie algebras, such as Iwasawa decompositions and parabolic subalgebras, have been playing key roles for studying cohomogeneity one actions on symmetric spaces of noncompact type. In this talk, we give an introduction to these theories, and describe some explicit examples.
